Last Required Post For MComm 320

Dear Shayne Clarke,

I now know how to spell your name, a little more about Falconry, and quite a bit about business writing. Thanks for the great semester of fun, learning, and friendship. This is my last post for your class, but I want you to know that I plan on continuing to post periodically about my life and about the fun I have with my wife. Feel free to check it regularly and keep in touch with me. I have really enjoyed being a 'blogger', not only because I don't have to tell everyone what I did every weekend, but because I can also see what exciting things my friends and family have done as well.

Thanks for teaching me more about how to successfully communicate, especially within the business world. I hope to continue our acquaintance through Facebook, Twitter, and blogging. Now all I have to do is get through your final tomorrow night, and things will be looking upward. Thanks again for the great year, and I hope that the future holds many more great things for you.

Jake

*Date Night*

This past weekend Holly and I did some fun activities.  We have been sooo busy with school and work we really wanted to do something REALLY fun! Friday night Holly and I watched the movie "UP".  During Easter weekend, Holly surprised me by making an Easter basket that I had to find, and one gift in that basket was "UP."  I had not seen that movie before but heard it was really good.  I really enjoyed the movie but I thought it was a little sad.  It had a really good message.

Saturday before Holly went to work I mentioned to her  that I would like to go hit a bucket of golf balls.  She protested my proposal and told me that she did NOT want to go.  Well, after I brought her a home-made salad and other goodies for lunch, I picked her up after her shift and was finally able to convince her to go with me. I had the golf clubs ready to go to the golf course.  We immediately drove to the range and hit a few balls she really started to have fun.  Hitting golf balls is almost a stress reliever.  Holly agreed with me.  She also agreed to go golfing again this next week :)

After we went golfing we went to Thanksgiving Point to go see a movie at the megaplex theaters.  We had some free tickets so we decided to go see "Date Night".  In this show Steve Carrell and Tina Fey, play a married couple who go out on their weekly "Date Night".  The story then took a turn when they were framed for stealing important information.  It was funny but I would not recommend this movie to anyone.  It was very crude in many places.

Overall we had a really fun night together....as always! It was a great time to get out and spend time with my wife. We had a a GREAT "Date Night"!

Opening Day

What more lovely way to spend Easter Weekend then by watching Opening Day? Tonight Holly and I had the privilege of watching the Red Sox play their first game of the season. They played last year's winner of the world series, and hated division rival New York Yankees. Eww, I can't believe I even typed their name into my blog.

It was awesome to see. The lead singer of Aerosmith sang at the seventh-inning stretch, and Neil Diamond sang "Sweet Caroline" to fulfill Red Sox tradition. But more importantly, the Red Sox started off their season with a hard fought win. We beat the the Yanks 9-7, and that was after trailing 5-1 in the 5th inning. What an exciting day. My favorite player, Dustin Pedroia (I love him because he is 5'9" and aa God among men on the diamond) hit a 3 run HR and move the Sox closer to victory. It was fun to be able to watch with Holly. She is understanding the game so well and has developed quite the interest in baseball, especially the Sox - which is awesome.

I am looking forward to the 2010 season. So far, the Red Sox have won the world series every 3 years since 2004. 2010 is the next season in line. I can't wait to cheer for my team. It's going to be awesome!!

Well now that your updated, feel free to drop by our house any time to watch a game with us and have a Red Sox party! Go Sox!!
